Internet give you a lot of options to animate your website, to make it funny, useful, original... For instance, you can propose to the internet users RSS feeds of your site, you can also propose to your consumer to read your seller blog or to see videos (with YouTube technology). On your portfolio of options, you have today a lot of technologies to animate your website...
However, too many options kill the options ! If you use all the new technologies, you will annoy your internet users. If I go on a website to buy a DVD, some options can interest me. For example, a trailer of the movie or the opinion of people... But, if the page is invaded by the options which don't interest me, I will be annoy by that. It is not because the technology exist that you have to do it.
For all innovations, you have to be sure that the technology answer to a real internet user's need.
